Life Science

Did you know that Swedish wastewater purification does not remove all of the approximately 1200 medical substances that are present in the water? Scientists have highlighted the challenge with high levels of hormones and antibiotics in the Baltic Sea. This will be one of the big debates at Globe Forum 2012. Our Life Science challenge is about finding innovations and technology that could help Swedish wastewater purification handle the demands of tomorrow. We will also continue to discuss the innovation landscape and how to fund innovations and research within life science.

Urban Innovation

Some of the biggest future challenges are related to our cities. Increasing population, food supply, transport and communication and energy use are some of the problems that have to be addressed. At Globe Forum we will discuss how we can design intelligent buildings and infrastructure, smart grids and the future of urban transport. Our city challenge focuses on transportation and energy solutions. Key innovators will present their innovations and experts and leading construction companies will share their experience and discuss future trends.

Delivering tomorrow, key scenarios for transportation in the future.

Join DHL in a round table discussion focusing on the future of logistics and contribute with your thoughts and challenges how logistic will look like. DHL will delve into how future logistics will look like based on different scenarios from newly published global futures study "Logistics 2050".

As a company committed to sustainability, Deutsche Post DHL, the world’s leading postal and logistics group, does not want to be caught off-guard by new trends. They want to be the one setting them. In our complexly intertwined and volatile world, it is more important than ever to be prepared for the unexpected. This holds true throughout the spectrum of the business world, not just for the logistics industry.

Transport visions from the next generation!

Adults today: Travel information, logistics optimization ... The next generation: Shoes that allows one to take longer steps, hovercraft that change energy source depending on weather!

Welcome to the breakout session on Urban Innovation to hear the expectations children and young people have on future transportation systems - and how we can address them today. KTH students have met with over a 100 young people in the ages between 7 and 15 years old to hear their thoughts on the future of transportation. These thoughts will be addressed by a panel of experts consisting of Maria Börjesson, Christina Lindbäck and Mattias Höjer. Josefin Wangel will moderate the session and the KTH students will share their stories about the journey into the minds of the next generation.

This session will be held in Swedish.
